KORUPSI SEBAGAI KEJAHATAN TERHADAP KEMANUSIAAN
Abstrak
It is understood that the Indonesian constitution has guaranteed the protection of Human Rights (HAM) to every Indonesian citizen. This is explicitly stated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia as a basic rule. The Corruption Eradication Commission, emphasized that corruption is a crime against humanity, this means that corruption is a behavior that can be categorized as a crime against human rights because it has a negative impact on the quality of public services, poverty is difficult to eradicate and the quality of human resources decreases. Efforts to eradicate criminal acts of corruption were realized by the Indonesian government by establishing Law Number 31 of 1999 as updated by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption. Corruption is not only aimed at deterring the corrupt by imposing heavy imprisonment, but also restoring state finances due to corruption as stated in the preamble and general explanation of the Anti-Corruption Law.
