Dampak Pandemi Covid-19 Pada Pekerja Di Perusahaan (Studi Kasus PT. Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk, Branch Medan)

Abstrak

A pandemic is an epidemic that has spread to various continents and countries, generally affecting many people. While the epidemic itself is a term that has been used to determine the sudden increase in the number of cases of a disease in a population of a certain area. Starting from the city of Wuhan, precisely in China, Coronavirus Disease 2019 or also known as Covid-19 has spread to various parts of the world. This study aims to determine the impact and efforts of the company in providing protection to the workers of PT. Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk, Medan Branch during the Covid-19 pandemic. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative research, namely the researcher attempts to describe a phenomenon or event as it is and the data collected is in the form of words, pictures not numbers. This research is descriptive analytical which reveals the laws and regulations relating to legal theories that are the object of research. The results show that Covid-19 has an impact on workers. The impact is that companies have to implement a work from home system, workers who usually work in offices now have to work from home. The system was created based on the government's recommendation which requires all people to carry out activities at home. In addition, the company also made changes to the worker recruitment process, changes to operating hours and delays the opening of new outlets or stores. Efforts made by the company to prevent an increase in the transmission of Covid-19 in the work environment, namely the company urges the company to always wash hands regularly, wear masks, maintain distance and provide vaccinations to workers to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19 transmission.
