Perlindungan Hukum Terhadap Korban Kecelakaan Lalu Lintas Di Jalan Raya Perspektif Undang-Undang Nomor 22 Tahun 2009

Abstrak

Traffic is one of the problems faced by big cities in Indonesia. This has been proven by indications of the increasing number of traffic accidents. It is known that the number of vehicles circulating in big cities is increasing from year to year. News about accidents due to neglecting traffic is almost never absent from the media in Indonesia. Police traffic unit is one of the implementing elements in charge of carrying out police duties including guarding, regulating, escorting and patrolling, public education and traffic engineering, registration and identification of drivers or motorized vehicles, traffic accident investigations and traffic law enforcement in order to maintain security. The order and smoothness of traffic is regulated in Article 12 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. This research is descriptive analytical, which discloses laws and regulations relating to legal theories that are the object of research. Provisions regarding legal protection for traffic accident victims in Indonesia are contained in Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. As well as the role of the police in realizing the protection of victims' rights at the Deli Serdang Police Traffic Unit in solving traffic accident problems, especially the protection of the rights of traffic accident victims, the police always try to give satisfaction to the victim in order to give the rights of the victim. There are several efforts made by the Satlant to reduce the number of traffic violations and minimize the number of traffic accidents in the jurisdiction, namely the Socialization of the Traffic Law, the Implementation of Police Operations in the Traffic Sector of the Deli Serdang Traffic Unit, and the Procurement of Bhabinkamtibmas by the Community Development Unit.
